When I've been trying to write "rock" songs over the last few months: Replacements, Wipers, The Clean, Rolling Stones (early 60's), Bee Thousand era Guided By Voices, Adolescents, Adverts, Ramones, Buzzcocks, early GG Allin, Royal Trux and Big Star.
With more electronic/improvised or experimental stuff:
Terry Riley, Aaron Dilloway, Alvin Lucier, Demons, Wold, Blues Control, Jazkamer (Eat Shit album), Suicide, Silver Apples, Taj Mahal Travellers, Whitehouse.
