Nah!
Sea Change has been his worst album to date. Fair enough, he'd just broken up with his girlfriend of many years, but there was no need to force an album on us that was essentially the forerunner of James Blunt. 'Lost Cause' was a great song, but the rest is still too hard to sit through without screaming 'FOR FUCK'S SAKE!'. Maybe it's Godrich's fault, I don't know.
Guero has some great moments. 'E-Pro' is Beck at the top of his rock and roll game. 'Que Onda, Guero?' has a really great rhythm to it, the lyrics to 'Missing' are some of his best of all time, the rolling beats and bass of 'Black Tambourine' are dance-tastic, and when the tremelo'd guitar comes in, fuck! Too good.
