I hate to say it, but The Velvet Underground.

nothing to be ashamed about man. 'white light white heat' and 'the velvets and nico' are two landmark albums, perfect, and in my opinion, the only true velvet underground albums. the velvet underground to me is the collaboration between john cale and lou reed. the s/t record has some absolutley beautiful songs, and 'loaded' is a nice rock n roll record, but i have always thought of them as the beginning of lou reed's solo career.
