Personally, I'm of the opinion that the whole 'chav' thing is massively overplayed. Much like the emo thing.

You go to a rock bar, and people who are dressed in one of the 4 or 5 'alternative' fashions of the last 10 years or so all attempt to seperate themselves from the emo sorts. 'Emo' become a straw-man, the actual emo kids are phantoms.

Likewise, everyone (however they dress) seeks to seperate themselves from 'chavs' (who are not universally called chavs - when I were wee they were 'townies', and the name varies across the country). People dress how they dress, and that's fine, and they act how they act, and that's also fine. Some of those people are cunts. I see more of these on the 'rock/ alternative' scene, but then I tend to see more of that as I'm not the raver I once was.

It might be different in other parts of the world, but in my experience 'cunts' do not dress like 'chavs' (necessarily).
