The only Smiths album I can even half-way stand nowadays is Louder than Bombs. A very inconsistent and boring band. Strangeways, most of Meat is Murder, and about half of the Queen is Dead outright sucks.
I really like Johnny Marr's inventive guitar textures though. I read that he recorded like 20 guitar tracks per song. On this charming man, if you listen closely, you can hear parts of him randomly throwing a knife at a guitar.
