It is odd in a sense, yes. And I, for one, don't think you are implying it was planned. I know you have more sense that that. At least I think I know that you do. It was about as planned as the unplanned pregancy itself.

In other strange news of quasi-synchronicity, I thought it remarkably bizarre that during Kim Kardashian's recent Letterman appearance, photos of a bloody floor were shown. Kim explained that she was doing rehearsals for Dancing With The Stars with an injured foot and had lacerated it due to a faulty mirrored desk. She was there, of course, to plug her debut in (the undoubtedly atrocious) Disaster Movie. Can't figure out why I found the bloody photos to lie in the realm of the weird? Well, I refuse to elaborate other than to remark it has something to do with one of her late father's cases...so there.
