Employers & society in general figures that if your parents have enough money to send you to a university then you'll make due somehow without their help. They term you "overqualified". The labor market respects specialized skills, not general knowledge.

So, college has become much like Preparatory School used to be; it's a place where the wealthy can dump their offspring for a few years.

60 minutes tonight features a piece on illegal immigration, one on Whole Foods Market, & a segment with author Carl Hiaasen.
I can't wait though for the all-new The Sopranos/Huff block.
