oh fuckses. it was not aki but MIKA kaurismaki-- who-- i dont know who that is except for the movie (which im sure you can google)

tigrero features jim jarmusch & sam fuller who go back to the jungle where 20 or so years before sam was supposed to have made a movie called "tigrero" w/ john wayne & i forget who else.

some of the images he took at the time made it into shock corridor. (you'll recognize them).

anyway about the OTHER kaurismaki (aki), he's a genius, hilarious, deadpan, amazing in a very low-budget sort of way. check it out too.

and i agree with porkmarras for the most part but
YOU NEED A GOOD DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY
or everything will go to shit
(that's what happened to "sideways" in my opinion-- could have been a much better movie if not for the crappy look).
