Syrfox, quit holding out on me! I want to hear some obscure stuff!! I'd reccomend Runner's Four as far as Deerhoof goes. They're one of those bands that isn't amazing but they're good enough where everyone on here likes them so it's easy to get the impression they're amazing... the new Deerhoof is decent. It's got some great songs on it, some not so great songs on it. Nothing mindblowing. Probably is a good place to start.
