Also, I really like SHIP ARRIVING TOO LATE TO SAVE A DROWNING WITCH, one of his 80's albums that makes great use of the synclavier. You MIGHT know this album as "the one that has 'Valley Girl'," but it's a really interesting record throughtout.
Um. I dnt know. You might also try a Zappa comp, so that you can hear his different styles (rock, doo-wop, jazz, classical, etc), though I can't say either of the CHEAP THRILLS ones are that solid. Maybe STRICTLY COMMERCIAL?
