Wow, I remember at the beginning of the summer I went nearly 3 weeks without the interwebs. Since I didn't have TV or newspaper either I was totally disconnected from the world. Which, at times, would be a nice thing, but only if it was by choice, not by lack of insulated copper cable.

yeah, the times over the summer where i had no connection was neat. it was cool being in a universe free of pop culture. but getting back online more or less saved my life (dramatic, i know) during the whole my-brother's-in-a-mental-clinic thing.
