If I was to remake
The Warriors I would transplant the story to a not-too-distant future. I think if you could see gang battles from 20?? or whatever, after the collapse of the automotive industry, it would be pretty interesting.. it could really help contextualise the conclave's reasons for a citywide takeover, like the government has failed them all, so a feudal gang rule is a better choice.. pretty sexy exciting dystopia I've got going here, ain't it?
