I absolutely love those two bands, SlipKnot's first album, System of a Down's first album, Static-X's first album, every AMEN album, almost every Tool album, every Deftones album except self-titled, some Spineshank stuff, and a few Staind and Cold songs. I don't give a fuck. Good music is good music.

this is total truth right here - altho ive never heard 3 dolla bill and dont care for staind and cold but there is a particular strain in SOME SELECT FEW nu metal songs of pure brilliance that cannot be denied. korn for example walk a precarious tightrope between tragicamp shitness and tragicamp brilliance. nu-metal was what got a lot of us here in the first place. i think up until the past few years before there was the kind of proliferation of fast net connections there is now - back then there was a definite need for a cycle of freaky weird bands to get heavy mainstream coverage once in a while - for all the poor kids half aware that they are searchin for something but aren't sure what - bands like korn and limp bizkit being thrust into the mainstream was the sign lots of us needed to go hunt out decent culture. it happened with grunge and heavy metal and new metal and nowadays prob more with grime. so yeah yu can slag off these bands all yu like but yu can't deny that some of them had a good affect and also had occasional moments of greatness. i know one dude that went from hating music to limp bizkit to pig destroyer in like a month.
