Oh! So close.
What made the last batch of tunes so special was the fact that I found myself humming little bits soon after I heard them, especially that one with the Carlin sample. (Fuck. Forget what it's called right now. You know, your masterpiece. Wish that was still up.)
None of these tracks had that quality. A solid melody was missing from all of them (Off the Cuff comes close, though). If you're going for a more "pure" ambient thing, though, I guess they're fine, and you can chalk up my opinion to "It's just not my thing." To my ears, they all sound like backing tracks awaiting a main part. So close, but not quite there.
I would use your new purchase to lay a great tune on top of tracks.
Also, why so little guitar?
Sorry if this response sounds harsh. Actually, if I didn't know you were capable of doing better, I wouldn't be saying any of this, so take it as a compliment.
