I did some political canvassing for about 6 weeks leading up to the election. There are some scary-stupid fucks out there.
"I'd vote for him, but he'd just get assisinated."
"They say the devil will come as a man of peace."
"America's not ready for a black president."
"But are you?" I ask.
"No."
"He's a muslim."
I politely correct them: "No. Actually his father was. Obama himself's a christian."
"Yeah, but he has muslim blood."
^ This one's my favorite because it most resembles Nazi ideology.
"I like everything he says...but I just don't trust him."
I'd hear at least one of these every day. It didn't matter what demograph the neighborhood fell into. After all, the majority of Americans (it seems) get their "news" from cable, internet, and church.
