Anyone ever hear of a rapist turned hero? He would be the first one, and therefore an absolute landmark in character discontinuity as well as audience stupidity.

The movie is crap, but you're exxagerating a bit. Lots of people in real life do bad things AND good things in a lifetime. Being a though and rough cop who acts like he's in charge molesting a woman he could still have done something good for her if there's her life on the table. Come on, don't tell me you never saved someone's life even if you're a prick ?? hah a.
Besides, saving a life doesn't make you a hero. Perhaps a rapist hero, in this particular case, but you're both a hero and a rapist. I mean, doing something good does not erase the bad stuff you did before.
