Bill Murray - yes...

This got me thinkin' about the other early SNL male cast - like Dan Akroyd, John Belushi and Chevy Chase - and how I grew up watching all their movies.

John Belushi was in two of my all time favourite films, 'Blues Brothers' and 'Animal House'. And the stuff I've seen of him from those old Saturday Night Live shows were awesome. Who knows what he would have come up with if it wasn't for the issue of being dead. However he loses points for having Jim Belushi as a brother.

Likewise, Dan Ackroyd rules for 'Blues Brothers', 'Ghostbusters' and even his cameo in 'Twilight Zone - the movie'. But ahem - 'Driving Miss Daisy?' 'My Girl??'....

As for Chevy Chase, I dunno... I suppose I still like the 'Fletch' series, but I've grown out of the 'Vacation' series. I think the last time I saw him was playing a murderer or rapist on one of the Law&Order franchises, SVU or CI or FCUK...

So yeah, on that basis - Bill Murray wins out for consistency. Shoulda got an Oscar for Lost in Translation.

On a personal note, if I did a luvvy-film-fest-worship for someone, if would have to be Clint. (Not Bronco Bill or the ones with the orangutang)
