Most programmers behind worms, trojans and other malicious scripts feel that they can exploit users and view it as being punitive against those that the creators generally dislike. With more people flaunting that their computer is virus proof because they have a Mac (view any malicious script related page on digg and look for the "I'm fine because I have a Mac" guy, he's always there in many different shells) they've been target to more viruses lately.
OSX isn't virus proof by any stretch.
