i feel you, my cats are ten now, and i realise for how long they have been with us already. i've never kept a pet this long: my first two cats both died really soon (one was poisoned, the other one got run over). after this, the only pets i really owned were two goldfish, we occasionally had a stray cat or dog in the house when someone had found it, and kept it until we found the owner or a new home (i remember my dad bringing home a young bouvier)

ive also had another cat while i had these two already, but he died after a year or so, some genetic disease every kitty in the nest had... it was the first pet death i really remember and i was very sad about it, since it was such a young cat and he had been suffering so much..

i also wonder what will happen if one of my cats dies, they're brothers and have been together since the day they were born.
