Pavement is my all time favorite band, and personally Brighten is my favorite Pavement record behind Slanted. I think it's even their most consistent, since every song is either really good or awesome. Combine that with the fact that the b-sides were great (Westie Can Drum should have been on the record) and the best Terror Twilight song (The Hexx) existed during the Brighten years, plus their lives shows were the best during that era, and it becomes a true Pavement classic, or at the least very most underrated IMO.
