vashti bunyan - just another diamond day
philips, 1970
Probably the most important album to contribute to this decade's revival of folk music. Vashti Bunyan crafts an album worth of beautiful simple folk songs that are almost as catchy as children's nursery rhymes (and some which are even based on them). Vashti's delicate voice is backed by a simple finger-picked guitar with other instruments like glockenspiel and flute and makes for a nice late night listen
