aperture: bigger the number= smaller hole to let through light
smaller the number= bigger hole to let through light
iso is the digital version of what asa is for film cameras: 100 iso less sensitive to light, 3200 iso more sensitive to light, my camera goes up to 12800 but gets very grainy that high.
shutter speeds vaary alot that particular photo i used 1/125th of a second so quite fast, however my camera varies from 1/8000th of a sec to unlimited time with the bulb setting.
metering, most camera have different ways of metering, i tend to use spot metering which meters in a small spot in the dead centre of the lens, then i meter for midtones to try and get fairly even exposure over the frame. depends what you are going for though, the circus shots i took that are a few pages back in this thread the metering said i was two stops under exposed.
if you care, that is about the extent of my camera knowledge. Tokolosh is the man when it comes to that stuff here...
