a) "were they there in the moment [art]?"
b) "were they doing it for the appreciation of others [music/art]?"
c) why does it matter, as long as you were there and you appreciated it?
d) but you weren't there, so there's always gonna be that aspect of empathy to the moment influencing--wait, I do NOT want this turning into an implication of me being against Sotomayor's confirmation--[and brevity [deciding not to talk about how long that thing between the double hashes was about to get]]
