I called into work today. Only my second absence in a year, and they just called my house and I turned the machine off and they fucking let it ring for 5 goddamn minutes before giving up. I don't have caller ID, so I star-69'd and sure enough it was work. Jesus. I got a bad eval last night and got into a huge fight with the manager, so yeah. I was planning on calling in anyway, though. That just CEMENTED it. It's only my 2nd absence, I'm allowed 4. So, hopefully, they won't try to pull some bullshit. But oh well. It's probably time to stop working for a while anyway.
