the thing about internet forums as opposed to bars/parties/larger social gatherings.... when i type a vowel sound, such as "ou", it is typed and translated with the same loudness as anyone else's "ou".
in real life, when i am chewing food or coughing on drink or staring at tits, or not speaking loudly enough over other people, that window is shut. that opportunity vanished, and the punchline missed. its over. no going back, as its too late, and quoting is only for the well-practiced, and still it often fails.
its disheartening to say the least
