That's stupid and I don't believe it for a second. Every revolutionary band, especially the ones before and during the Beatle's era, were considered shocking by the standards of the day. The Beatles totally started out as the kind of band that did what they were told, but that's not the way everyone was and that's the reason they still can't escape the boy band thing even if it isn't exactly relevant.

First of all, yeah I agree and that's part of what I was getting at. And second, I don't remember your point so I guess that's the case. And I was also exaggerating a little. I know you don't think EVERYTHING they did was a revelation.
edit: I was always way more impressed by John Lennon and Yoko Ono than the Beatles. I think the Beatlies were very important, but Lennon and Yoko were more revolutionary in my opinion except some things that the Beatles did, like incorporating Eastern musical ideas and writing their own songs.
