After recording a cover of the Ramones' "Sheena Is a Punk Rocker" with Jemina Pearl for trash TV titan "Gossip Girl" last year, Thurston Moore is once again showing his allegiance to the Upper East Side bitchfest melodrama.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Moore and his Sonic Youth cronies are set to perform a very special acoustic version of their EVOL single "Starpower" on the fifth episode of the show's third season. The arch, Kim-sung tune features lyrics like "She knows how to make love to me," which sounds just about right.
"Sonic Youth is one of my favorite bands,""Gossip Girl" co-creator Stephanie Savage told EW. "I can kind of die now. I don't really have anywhere to go from here."
