basically i was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on fun things to do and see in these places, especially locations of good shops to buy new and/or used vinyl and venues to go see good music.

i reliase this is a bit cheeky and i should probably do some research myself, but i have little to no internet search talent.

i personally love san francisco's mission district. i also got a kick out of the castro. you might also wanna check out muir woods.

there is so much to do in new york city...what exactly are you interested in? just a hint- skip the touristy stuff and head downtown.
