You have nothing to wait for. he already had a trial AND WAS FOUND GUILTY, he fled before the sentencing. The testimony of the girl is clear - he drugged and raped her. if he wanted to contest the trial that time was 30 years ago. I think I've lost all respect for David Lynch.
