when i wake up i drink a small cup of tea-- a green or oolong in summer, a black kenyan or english breakfast in winter (w/ creamer + sweet). thats my only caffeine for the day. more of a ritual to wake up.
then i may work out or write or both or whatever, then i eat.
now that the weather is turning warm i'm turning away from turkey sausages and steamed veggies and making fruit/protein smoothies.
these days the smoothies are frozen strawberries or blueberries, bananas, orange juice or coconut "milk", and protein (whey) powder. another favorite base is hemp milk, which i buy bt the case when it comes up on sale. and holy mother of fuck, i can't wait for ripe mangos to be available for dirt cheap so i can toss them in fresh, instead of berries, or with them, mmmmm...!
the smoothies come out so thick sometimes i need a spoon to eat them-- it's like having ice cream for breakfast. fucking great.
sometimes when i'm up all night i'll greet the dawn with a shrimp omelette (to replenish the brain) or with a boody mary (if i we've been drinking), or both.
