It's really hard comparing the Mario games because most of them are so great (aside from the occasional Mario's Time Machine).
I love the series to death. But I'd have to say that Super Mario 64 is my absolute favorite. Super Mario RPG, Yoshi's Island, and SMB3 come dangerously close though.
