First, let me start by saying that my main excuse for making this thread is that there's an excellent piece here, in today's edition of Telegrph.co.uk about a new film that reveals him as 'warm, witty and utterly unaffected'.

He says: "I am an old scholar, better-looking now than when I was young. That's what sitting on your ass does to your face."

I've recently got into his work, after purchasing a cassette of his greatest hits for 30p (50c?). I'm enjoying his work immensely, 'The Partisan' currently being my favourte track. I'm also reading his novel Beautiful Losers. Does anyone care to recommend what they consider to be his vital works? Is there a good recommended live LP (I'm partial to live material)?

I don;t think there's been a thread concerning Mr Cohen before, has there?
