That said, there are reports of very powerful heroin in the US from Mexico/Columbia, people are OD'ing from snorting it, which is unusual I think. Meanwhile, in Afghanistan, half the crop is being lost to fungus.

I've been hearing reports of looooooots of bad cuts in the dope right now. There's a resurgence of easy-to-make opiate analogues that make your dope much stronger. Fentanyl, MDPP, and even sloppy fuck-ups like MPPP have been seen in the last year. Dope hasn't been this scary since the 80s.
Coke is really scary now too. Levasimole cuts causing extremely-low white blood cell counts. Scary shit, man.
