I find him really boring and dull. I just don't understand the appeal. I think Ken Park is in the bottom 10 worst films I've ever seen. Just seems like another dude referencing Jost and Godard in a poor way. Seems to be in the same boat as Van Sant but not as talented, in direction or storytelling. He also sometimes reminds me of Gregg Araki -- in fact, he downright rips off Araki but puts a more mainstream spin on his works... Araki's films are just mindblowing, consistently. Also, obviously linked to Korine, but not as imaginative or smart. I think Korine actually said that about Larry Clark... (and I'm no Korine worshipper, believe me) "He's an okay photographer but an idiotic director." That's the vibe I get from him too. His films just communicate nothing. I dunno... I thought Whassup Rockers was annoying, and Kids is just SHIT.

Glad you like him though man.. ANOTHER DAY IN PARADISE is entertaining enough, and BULLY is... well... unlikeable but compelling, in the "cool! It's a true story! Wow!" kinda way.
