has anyone read Silk by alessandro baricco? it is an awesome book. i read it some years ago and i loved it so much i decided to get another book by him. i just bough Ocean Sea on amazon.com for $3.50! very good price. has anyone else read anything by him or even heard of him? i don't expect this thread to get many responses.

It's fairly interesting. It's a book by this layperson, Rob Bryanton, & his take on putting String Theory into layman's terms. His recent book is "Imagining the Tenth Dimension". The site is pretty slick too with a choice between text & flash animations. I guess they're trying for the whole Hawking Brief History of Time crowd to buy the book.

baricco... yeah, he's italian!
also NOVECENTO is good-from this monologue came the movie "the legend of the pianis in the ocean". the new one's cold "senza sangue" (bloodless). I didn't like it that much though. |

Just went to the library. I picked up The Skills to Pay the Bills: The Story of the Beastie Boys
& some graphics: Watchmen, Ghost World, and The Dark Knight Returns. Read em before but thought they seemed like a fun mid-summer thing to do. |

Fun read=Please Kill Me: The Uncensored History Of Punk. Also, very informative for any who wish to know the true origins of said movement.
