Currently reading Godlike. I loved Go Now, but was apprehensive about reading Godlike due to mixed reviews. But I must say it's pretty great. It weaves a more straight narrative with an even more poetic vibe than Go Now. His poetic stylings also remind me to some extent of Thurston Moore's books.

I prefer his literary output to his musical one.

Is "Go Now" the road trip one? I started off enjoying that, and I liked the way it was written, but the chief character got right on my tits and I spent much of the second half of the book wishing he'd OD.

yep. I read an interview w/ Hell by Lester Bangs and it seemed like Billy Mudd is quite an apt approximation of Hell during his punk days. It seems he's calmed down to some extent now though. |
