i tend to like italian operas. i fucking hate wagner. maybe i'm influenced by nietzsche but it's true... he said bizet > > wagner & i wholly agree. wagner jangles my frikkin nerves.

haydenasche, you of course have to go to fag university and take opera classes. come on man. i attribute your dislike to your tender age (ha ha), but if you want to become a proper gentleman of leisure in your 20's then you'll have to get into opera at some point.

all of you fuckers who pick fights with hayden asche get a fucking life, i mean, he often makes the point of reminding people of the waste of arguing with a 15 year old over the internet. i say enjoy his sarcasms and be grateful that some kids out there still have their brains. someone will have to pay your social security for fucks sakes. ha. ok i gotta go.

The ukelele is the funniest of all stringed instruments, I would say.
But yeah, Bull's Carmina Burana is pretty great, actually. Total context headfuck.

I like the formality and rigor of german opera. Wagner is one of my faves.
I also like the warmth and lightheartedness of romantic Italian Opera, Berlioz for example is a fave of mine.

I do not like american opera. or operettas

Ahh but what you don't realize, Mr. Cussword, is that I don't want to be a proper gentleman. Quite the contrary actually. I am going to grow up to be a dictator. I haven't decided which country I will control yet but I can assure you there will be absolutely none of this 'opera' or 'leisure' you speak of.

i also dislike american opera, particularly Porgy and Bess, it just seems that europeans can only write opera, western opera is terrible, there is something missing from western opera, oh wait passion. I just saw a version of Porgy and Bess by some American company called living arts; they just toured australia and it was really amateur, the mix was shit, the lighting was shit. one of the stage crew answered his mobile phone on stage during a scene change. A M A T E U R, and just the opera in general bores me silly.

I'm extremely picky about opera. The only kind I like is the deep voice male italian opera.
