so peaches is gonna play a few shows in japan, the one in tokyo is ¥6000.
thats £30 or $60 more or less. i cant believe how much it is to see none japanese bands here. theres no way i can afford that. i saw melt banana last month for ¥1500 with about 5 more decent jp hardcoreish bands. now thats value for money! and im gonna go see ooioo at a festival where the tickets are just ¥4000 for all day. peaches can fuck off this time. i miss the days of being in nyc paying $10-12 for a gig. always decent too. you dont get that in england......unless i put the show on. £3.50 for afrirampo! quality! |

i cant say ive been to many in england for a while, but in brum when i decent band come by they usualy cost £8 upwards.
actualy the main promoters in brum started off with very decent priced gigs but now theyre putting prices up and up. start off diy and end up blinded by the money. its a shame too cuz they seem to have a monopoly on the decent bands who tour england. i would book these bands and charge alot less if only i could get them in the first place. but bands tend to go where theyve had a good experience before. |

most of the gigs i went to in leeds were £3 or cheaper. exept if its a touring band then its usually a bit more, maybe £5 or something.

i just checked the site of the people in brum who promote the gigs and they seem to charge between £7 and £12 these days. i spose its not as bad as i was making out, but i think compared to nyc, its more expensive. but we pay more for everything in the uk anyway so its not suprising.

Yeah. I'm going to see Peaches at the Forum (London) in a couple of weeks. Ticket was £14 plus £4.50 booking/transaction fee and postage.. all in all about £20. Plus at least a fiver for travel. So.. £25 or £26.
Seeing anyone who more than a few thousand people have heard of in London will cost you over £20 (what's that? about $55-$60?) almost uniformly. Obscure bands and club nights with multiple acts are still cheap though. Often under a fiver. |
