David Rasche as the cop in that late 80s tv show. That show was so funny. Anybody else seen it?

He always talked to his gun. He was like a parody of Dirty Harry. Wore suits and sunglasses. 'Trust me, I know what I'm doing" was his catchphrase.

Yes, that's the one. I just got the dvds a couple days ago so I'm on a big Sledge hammer kick right now.
edit I taped most of the episodes when I was kid when the show was on on from 86 to 88 but ended up losing the tapes around 1994 so I was real excited when I found out it was on dvd. I never thought the show would get the dvd re-issue treatment. Rasche (who played Sledge Hammer) was in United 93 film. haven't seen it yet. |

I agree with you there. When Friends came out I didn't care for it and never watched it. Then by the last couple years it was on I started watching it by default because of all the reality shows that sucked that were on. Then I became a fan of it. But all I want is some good sitcoms. But they don't make them anymore. That was so great in the 80s, you had all these great sitcoms on sometimes you had to choose between 2 or 3 shows on at the same time that you liked. And what the hell is wromg with my delete button? It won't work. oe tj

SledgeHammer! That brings back memories. I read in a book about 80's shows that the producers made that show expecting it to get cancelled or something, that's why in the season finale of the first season it ended with a big explosion and you thought that Sledge Hammer died, and that was expected to be the final episode, but apparantly (and I don't remember this happening), the show didn't get cancelled and on the second season they made it like every episode was stuff that happened before the events of the season finale, and then it did get cancelled. Funny show.
