I love abstract experssionist art.
My favorites are Robert Motherwell with his gigantic abstractions Franz Kline with his large black and white works Jackson Pollock with his field paintings fcking awesome dekooning painting his insanity so many cool artists making the first real "american" painting.

Kline is def one of my favs, Pollock grew on me and now I love it. They showed that there are no rules to art, it doesn't have to be something predetermined as good or bad, it's just an expression of what you feel whether others care or not.

and it was in defiance to all of art before.
they said, in a world as fucked up, as destroyed, as INSANE as the world seemed to everyone during the long ass world war we choose to divide up into world war one and two, making art in the old "normal" manner, base d on the old masters and seeking to portray the "beauty" of the natural world was fucking childish and stupid and just as INSANE as the world they lived in. they wanted to reach beyond the art history of the sick and twisted world and get right to the core of painting, the core of art, which is sensory exhiliration.
