I thought I had some expensive reissues by Shadoks as well.
I will check some more at home. I know I can come up with a few others. |

Thanks. I'm particularly looking for stuff like Datetenryu, Flied Egg or similar.

Avoid that Jun Kamikubo reissue on Shadoks. One good song for 50 dollars; not a good rate of return. Nice cover though.

Another one I've only recently discovered and really enjoyed are Speed, Glue and Shinki. Pretty much a band of drug-enthusiasts, not just in their name and recreational activities but also several titles of their songs. Apparently the bassist of Golden Cups made it to their line up.

Very much. I like it how he makes even the slower numbers have a certain piercing quality to his guitar-playing. I'm also well impressed that he was fond of sniffing glue in the 60s! In your face punks!

If you haven't already, go read Julian Cope's Japrocksampler. He has a neat top 50 list in there.

Derek - I've got that book, started reading and then put it away. I don't mind Julian Cope as a writer, it's just that often I can't understand why he writes that he hears certain things on a record that I don't hear on them at all. That list is good, but there are many names missing.

OH, then just skip to the chapters about Flower Travellin' Band, Speed Glue and Shinki and then Les Rallizes Denudes and that should be you covered. Those are the most entertaining chapters of the book.
