I just listened J'accuse Ted Hughes again and it's great! But fuck, the sound quality is just awful on it ... Come on Sonic Youth, we really need a SYR 7: J'accuse Ted Hughes release with pro sound quality...

We definitely need it... but what we need most is the EVOL tour movie (after they finish the Daydream Nation Deluxe release!)

it was a long 20 minute improvisation track which they played only once at ATP in 2000. it had lyrics as well, i've never heard it, but they go something like
"i sent my poem to good housekeeping they paid me 10 bucks for my poem i fucked a poet..." something along those lines anyway. rumours are that they will release it as syr 7... "i show ted hughes" is what it means right?

'I accuse ted hughes', as in, 'I accuse Ted Hughes of contributing to Sylvia Plath's suicide'. |

But it's a joke song...like the term "J'accuse" actually absolves Ted Hughes of wrong doing.
The song to me is like Sylvia Plath accusing Ted Hughes of being complicit in her death when it was her herself who did herself in and not Ted. Basically, the song to me absolves Ted Hughes of all guilt. The title is funny and misleading. |

Oh well. I think I've been to Plath's grave but I don't remember too well.
