I always thought they were like an Emerson, Lake, and Palmer type band, so I never really listened to them.
But I recently found out that Mr. Blue Sky is an ELO song, which I think is a pretty good song. Would I like any of their albums? Or is that their only good song? |

Out of the Blue, Face the Music and Discovery. I'd say you'd like those.
I do.

Out of the Blue is great but I'd just go for a decent best of collection. They're really a singles rather than albums band I think.

Yeah, there's something eternally comforting about that song. good times, and all that. nice one.
i'm too drunk for this thread. I can only see majorly irresponsible amazon purchases coming from it. |

I think of them as a singles band. "Telephone Line" is one of my favorite pop moments ever.

Oh no, not this lot. "Mister Blue Sky" was horribly ubiquitous in the 70's, and their mastery of cheese-rock was (and still is) peerless. Their Roy Wood-led period is entertaining/chucklesome, but once Jeff Lynne became their centre-forward, it was Beatles pastiche and classical/boogie mash-ups all the way.
