Do you think The Band's commercial success was either helped or hindered by their name?
No pressure to answer. I'm just increasing my post count. |

you are talking about the band, The Band. I'm talking about the band, Band. I can see how you might be confused. Band has had no commercial success whatsoever. commercial success destroys cult followings. |

See, that's exactly the problem I'm talking about. If I send my mum out to get me the second The Band album (entitled simply The Band) she's likely to come back with a Band CD, I know she is. Mums will fuck you up like that every flippin time.

Husker Du is great. Very fun music.
By the way, if this is real, did you just join this site to ask us about Husker Du? "Gee, someone I know likes Husker Du. Maybe I'll get online and join the Sonic Youth message board to find out more about Husker Du." ;-) |

Band really starts to shine on message boards and coffee tables, where others can witness yr knowledge of it and give you that air of mystery that you've been searching for always. for maximum effect, I would suggest finding Band's BR series. BR 1: Noise is the Sound of Obscurity BR 2: Мы играем одно примечание на очень долгое время BR 4: Drie Kerels Zoemen Terwijl Twee Drukknoppen BR 5: SONGS YOU WILL NEVER LISTEN TO IN YR CAR (BR: 3 was never released) musically they are all completely unlistenable. however, yr social life will thank you. you can thank ME about it later. ps: buy yr mum some ABBA for fuck's sake. |

My aunt has a promo copy of BR 2. She says its alligator-theme gets a bit old after a few listens. Now she yearns for something 'less amphibious'.
On my coffee table right now is: a cup of coffee an ashtray a half smoked packet of pall malls an empty plastic bottle that once contained sparkling water I'm doing it so totally wrong, aren't I? |

no. yr doin' ok. besides, don't ask me. my ashtray is outside, my water is cherry coke zero and as far as Band is concerned, I got the cd's instead of vinyl. even those are sitting on the shelf, buried and never often played.
mostly, I'm just upset that iloverain&trees scooped me on Band. |

I have BR 3, floatingslowly. I had to trade my soul to their manager to get it, though...
