I actually just got into sonic youth right before sonic nurse came out. The day I picked up that CD and heard it, I started kicking myself for not getting into them earlier. I think it's absolutely worth the buy. You won't be let down.

I love this album, although I have to admit I like Murray Street slightly more but just barely. The only song I don't like is Dude Ranch Nurse and the rest are amazing.

Not every Sonic Youth album is the greatest thing ever, but they are almost all worth buying, because they are all still good. Except Rather Ripped. It's a good title really, because I would rather rip the album then pay $15 for it.

I agree dont hesitate to buy it... I actually thought it was a bit odd at first because some of its kind of very easy listening - but then theres this juxtoposition of noise. Of course now thats something for me to love about the album... But like someone else said in the thread it has it's rocking moments too.

about 2 years ago now, i had realised i liked this Sonic Youth band. I liked that Goo album and that Evol thing. Thought id check out their latest release. Bought Sonic Nurse. Became obsessed with this Nurse thing. Realised that a band that is 25 years into their existence can be as moving as a band who are making their first album. Nurse is the most personally meaningful SY album to me, and its my favourite.
