I like it! Alot of really good songs. "Impossible Germany" is my favorite. "Side with the Seeds" is a close second. |

its a good album but Wilco have the potential to do so much better.
AGIB isn't even my fav album but the songs on there seem so much better than most of these new tracks. fuller and packed with an instant musical uppercut. my favorite song is You Are My Face. the only song, more so than Impossible Germany actually, that I think is up to par with their recent and even older songs. it sounds like a marriage between She's A Jar (the verses) and At Least That's What You Said (at 1:30) 3:21 - 3:25 on Impossible Germany is incredibly beautiful. such a little moment but so sweet and sad. and then they all come in and.. yeah. goodness. but who knows. maybe I'll come home one day feeling bummy and I'll put this on and it'll all make sense but I want to be excited a bit more next time. good album for sure though. ps - i'm pissed the Hammerstein show sold out so quickly. godDAMN. haha. |

Oh man...A.M. is such a shit album.
I bought it hoping it would be like..the few Wilco songs I'd heard (like, Kicking TElevision, and some stuff from A Ghost is Born)... no such luck... fucking crap album.

I think an ideal start for a Wilco newbie would be Yankee Hotel Foxtrot... at least I started to love them since this record.

Funny that you mention that..... I was listening to this album time and time again and all I could discern was ''Wow, Nels Cline has to be bored.'' |

I've had the album a couple months and listened to it for about two days when I first got it. Its not that its bad, just dull. Maybe I need to let it grow on me but I was a little dissapointed. The last "Loose Fur" blows it away and that's just a side project. Plus Wilco toured like four full times and multiple festival circuits on "Ghost is born." After such a gap as well as consistently good albums in the past for the most part, I expected a bit more.

i like the interaction he has with jeff, and i like that he's not overplaying. the album in general is so laidback it's almost boring, i too expected more but it's a solid release. |

I've given YHF a listen, but it was a huge disappointment after all the hype I heard about it. Some ambient electronics at the end of a song does not = experimental.

YHF is not experimental, of course. Wilco are about the tunes you know, songs. You might say it was experimental FOR WILCO, but whatever. Experimental is a dead term regarding music, as far as I'm concerned. Anyway.
I just downloaded the new album from a blog. I like it just fine so far. I'm sure it will make me happy cruising around without air conditioning this summer. |
