God, I've really gotten into these guys lately. I love the debut plus Younger than Yesterday, The Notorious, and Sweetheart of the Rodeo. They're awesome. I'm also on the prowl for a new Sundazed LP called Another Dimension that's alternate takes of Fifth Dimension.
Any other Byrds fans?

Anything else to contribute? Anyone?
I know it's getting fairly archaic, but damn these guys were good.

Vowels: A E I O U and sometimes Y
In the case of the word Byrd, Y is used as a vowel *adds to dullness of the thread* |

There are many good bass lines in their albums. I notice a Coltrane influence in some of their stuff, the flights of improvisation the guitars take, and even the bass. I also like the eastern Indian sounds they use sometimes. The Notorious album is downright psychedelic. Except for a few production things, it could come from a current indie band.
