i want to get a little combo tube amp, and (vintage) fender deluxe reverb seems ideal but really expensive. i don't want big: 20-40 watts so i can drive the tubes without killing my ears, i want reverb & tremelo. i' thinking maybe a gibson lancer? anybody got any bright ideas?..

this probably isn't what you're looking for, but i have a 200 watt fender princeton from the early 70s and it's served me well. i've never replaced the tubes or anything and it still sounds excellent. you get a nice crunch when you crank it up, it's not too big, and w/ the speed & intensity knobs twiddled around you can get some decent delay/reverb effects...you just have to play around with it a bit. i've never been into all the technical shit involving amps and pedals and what have you but i'd say if you're looking for a vintage fender amp it's a good one to have around. you can keep the volume fairly low and play it in the house or whatever...yeah.
