also, I agree that 2001 was the best, but it's a close race with 2010.

2010 felt like hard sci-fi where 2001 had that acid-tinged feel that most sci-fi in the late 60's strived for. not that that's BAD (I eat it up), but I like the apocalyptic feel of the second story.

tripping out hippies must have been good business while the getting was still good...

I've been reading "The History of Japanese Free Jazz", which is excellent.

Though sometimes, I fear, it's quite impossible to read with a critcal mind in a foreign language. It's so easy to fall victim to the "Look mom! I'm reading these squiggly lines!" Syndrome that an insurance policy can read like poetry. The joy of deciphering language can so easily be confused with the joy of reading.
Or maybe that's just me.
