From http://www.thisdayinmusic.com
Nov 11th, 1969, the FBI in Phoenix, Arizona arrested Jim Morrison for drunk and disorderly conduct aboard a plane. The Doors singer who was on his way to a Rolling Stones concert with actor Tom Baker had been drinking and annoying the stewardesses. The pair spent the night in jail and were released on $2,500 bail. If only more rock stars acted this way...

I was wondering about that too, like, Morrison was partying with a future Doctor Who??? I might not think he was as big of an idiot then. It could actually have been that Tom Baker though as he was born in 1934 and would have been 35 in 1969. According to Wikipedia: He was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards for his role as Rasputin in the 1971 film Nicholas and Alexandra. So he was probably on his way up as a celebrity in '69 too. However, further investigation of the fourth Doctor digs up that there was actually an American actor of the same name in the Warhol scene, who was in fact a friend of Morrison. He died of a drug overdose in 1982, not unlike his good friend the Lizard King. |
